CID Hub 1.4.0

CID Hub 1.4.0 is an upcoming release that adds certificate-authority management, strengthens secure access, and improves CID setup and recovery.

This page describes the current planned scope. The release is not yet available in production, and the final release record and release month are pending.

[Unreleased]

Added

  • Added management of corporate certificate authorities in CID Hub:
    • Administrators can import, preview, edit, and delete X.509 certificates in PEM format from the Certificate Authorities page.
    • CID Hub distributes each account's certificate authorities to its CID Linux hosts and embedded Windows VMs.
    • Imported certificate authorities let CIDs trust corporate certificates used by OpenLab Server and OpenLab ECM.
  • Added a manual factory-reset option for support personnel with console or SSH access. The CID can reset locally and reconnect to its existing CID Hub record without first deleting that record.

Changed

  • Changed OpenLab Server validation to check both the configured host name and fully qualified domain name before registration, making DNS configuration errors visible before software downloads begin.
  • Changed CID Hub and on-device connectivity tests to check the current content-delivery endpoints used for software downloads.
  • Changed software installation so a downloaded Linux update installs before other selected software.
  • Changed software-download recovery so updates can continue after a CID reconnects following an extended offline period.

Fixed

  • Fixed intermittent factory-reset failures that prevented the reset from completing.
  • Fixed factory-reset retries so a CID can register again after a network interruption.
  • Fixed CID registration with OpenLab ECM servers that use corporate certificates.
  • Fixed CID registration when the Corporate and Instrument network interfaces use overlapping private IP address ranges.
  • Fixed automatic Windows-update selection for affected CIDs that do not inherit software settings from an OpenLab Server.
  • Fixed duplicate Linux-update entries in the Software Library that could prevent CID registration.
  • Fixed credential updates during CID setup so Cockpit and Windows access credentials are configured after registration.
  • Fixed CID name resolution so a configured fully qualified domain name is resolved as an absolute name instead of receiving an additional DNS search suffix.
  • Fixed driver and add-on installation after a failed OpenLab CDS registration caused by an OpenLab Server and CDS version incompatibility.
  • [Pending] Fix CID startup on networks where the DHCP server responds slowly. A CID can otherwise remain offline while repeatedly retrying network initialization.

Security

  • Restricted CID HTTPS services to TLS 1.2 and TLS 1.3.
  • Restricted online help to authenticated CID Hub users. Direct links to help redirect unauthenticated users to CID Hub sign-in.
